Oh, I wish I had a birthday coming up so I could make this! It was everything you would expect from a buttercream frosting with a surprisingly light strawberry flavor that went so well with the devil’s food cupcake. Blackberry Buttercream Frosting. The cake is so beautiful, it’s too bad you had to cut into it! Once the mixture can coat a spoon (you will have about 1/4 cup of blackberry puree) remove from heat. Add in the confectioners sugar, one cup at a time, on low speed. Photographer. If you don’t feel like baking, you can just eat it by the spoonfuls…LOL! That truly is such a refreshing flavor combination! I was very pleased with how it turned out, and of course it was gratifying to see my granddaughter’s enthusiasm about her slice!
